OEWD and the PA State WIB partner to deliver presentation on ARRA “stimulus”
Maria Kirby and Eleanor Schiff, assistant directors of Penn State’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD), partnered with Dr. Bob Garraty, executive director of the Pennsylvania State Workforce Investment Board (WIB), to co-present a condensed overview of The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) with information targeted toward continuing education and training. The audience was comprised of Penn State Continuing Education directors and staff from around the state. The presentation provided information on the mechanics of the funding streams (competitive grants and formula-based funding) flowing from the federal government to Pennsylvania state agencies and the integrative role of OEWD within Outreach and Penn State.
